what size nitro engine would i use on my 1/14 scale rc drift car?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:08 pm -

i have a 1/14 scale rc drift car with a 370 motor. i either want a brushless or a nitro engine. i need help finding a good one that will fit. i also need a speed control for it too.

okay you've got an electric motor now stay with electric. Long drifts aren't good for nitros and a .25 is way to big for a 1/14 scale car. Get a brushless motor.

Here is an extreamly good brushless motor that will fit your car it's very good:

http://www.rchobbies.com.au/store/product_info.php?products_id=12014&osCsid=c5debedbb1e18adbf0ce145a60ba6317

thats for a c4 brushless motor

this is for the ESC for the motor also very good:

http://www.rchobbies.com.au/store/product_info.php?products_id=19463&osCsid=c5debedbb1e18adbf0ce145a60ba6317

that is a mini tazer esc all up it's cost $160 (aus) much cheaper and easier and quicker than some nitro engines.

remember that long drifts aren't good for nitro engines because it can over work the motor because the wheels are spining faster than the car is moving(no load on the engine so it overworks).

what is a good rc buggy for under $200.?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:07 pm -

g to amainhobbies .com and look at the traxxas bandit if you want a buggy or the rustler if you want a truck. you can get one of these for close to 2hundred but a batteryand charger will put you over another 50bucks you can get a mini like a 1/18 scale for 100 bucks some of these are ready with everything you need to run them look for one called the mini-t made buy Team Losi look for other mini scale trucks and buggys they are generally cheaper and just as much fun to run. you can check out more at towerhobbies.com or hobbytron.com or horizonhobby.com . for 229.00 dollars you can get an awesome 4wd mini monster truck called the mini LST2 made by Team Losi i think it comes with a battery ,charger and a radio that you can run with anybody else and not have to worry about having the same radio frequency as somebody else al you might have to buy is batterys for the radio AA's kinda lengthy answer hope it helps oh buy the way i bought my 5yr old son a traxxas rustler truck for 179.00 a couple of cheap betterys and a charger and hes beat the snot out of it for a year now it just keeps going

If frequency selective circuit can be built by using capacitors and resistors than why inductors are used?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:07 pm -

Almost every circuit I have seen as an rf receiver, it uses inductor and a capacitor as a tank circuit. Why not just use RC circuit with opamps to select a specific frequency and than get desired gain too?

Because in an LC circuit, the L (inductor) has a cutoff frequency that allows lower frequencies to pass (low pass), while the C (capacitor) allows more to pass (high pass) as the frequency goes higher. Together they select a frequency to pass (band pass.) in an RC circuit it will pass more of the frequency as it gets higher, as it's only a high pass and can't be a frequency selector.

1/10 scale electric rc car???

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:06 pm -

Ok i have two questions
1) To make touring 1/10 scale rc car into a drift car i just need to change tires right?
2) How long do batteries last in thouse rc cars?

no you need more than just a new set of tires .. but it does help
hpi sells the most well known drifting kit _ D BOX- its a component that when you turn one way it automatically re- balances the other side ( counter steering ) and sends it into a drifting state which the car drifts .. its pretty expense but for the cost its great .. all the pros use it
check it out at http://www.hpiracing.com/products/en/80588.html

what kind of batteries you use.. the higher the amp the longer and more responsive the controls will be – like a LI Po battery (best one on the market is great.. but it needs a special charger and speed control to handel the power but normal batteries only last like 15 minuits

hope this helps you .. and a sweet way to drift with out it is go to a skating rink and let your car loose :)

my rc boat has ESC Mtroniks Viper Marine 25 run with 7.2v 3700mah would like to update motor?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:06 pm -

It has 540 motor not sure how many turns. Could anyone advise?

this motor is 21000 rpm but you will need a 8.4 battery at 3700 mah or higher then 3700 mah here's the site your esc is rated up to 12 volt's at 25 amp's so it will work fine for you the site also has the battery's to
have fun

rc cars mamba brushless in a t4 or touring car radio controlled?

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:06 pm -

i have a 7700 mamba max thinking about using ib4200 or ep4200 anyway, how much differance would there be if it went in a 2wd t4 stadium truck, or a carbon fibre touring car in mph please, thanks

Using the 7700 in either will give you kickass acceleration… expect the truck to be slower than the touring car – but that all depends on the gearing & tyres used (plus weight / drag co-efficient)… expect 50+mph in both

How does RC Cars & Trucks from hobby shops that cost $150+ compare to ones u find in radio shack for around$65

Written by admin on April 6, 2009 – 1:06 pm -

Radio shack uses lesser quality and simplistic technology to get the job done. I've baught lots of radio shack boats and cars and converted them with good electronics. After taking them apart I've found that almost all tend to use one large circut board for functions to cut down on cost. In doing this a hobby person is unable to use other transmitters, different motors and batteries, and swapping things like servo's.

Also while the plastic used is bigger beefier and bulky for looks and taking a beating. It produces a ton of excess weight that is not needed bogging the rc down which prevents it from going faster etc.

In the end your paying more for individual name brand electronics from the hobby shop which for many hobbiest they couldn't live without. The kits for cars and trucks cost more because they have all option parts and nearly everything on the vehicle can be replaced should need be.

For anyone looking to persue the "hobby" I would pay the 150 at a hobby shop, for those just looking for a "toy" I'd go to radio shack.

P.S. only most radio shack boats can be modified with your own electronics (ecept for X-Mods)
