I would stick with the top names in the business.
Some will be way out of your price range, but have a look around at the following brands.
Team Associated
Tamiya
Losi
HPI Racing
Hot Bodies
Kyosho
Yokomo
X-Ray
Traxxas
Stick with those brands and you can't go wrong.
RC has absolutely NO re-sale value.
Most racers will only keep their rigs for 1 year and then get a new one every season. Meaning…you can get some really great deals on e-bay and top board sites like RCTECH.NET if you know what you are looking for.
