First things first! Why is it important to clean and properly store radio controlled cars? Do you remember the reason your mother always told you to clean yourself up, clean your room, wash the dishes, etc.? That is – to keep you clean as well as up and running.

The same is true with radio controlled cars. The following are effective and necessary tips to store and keep those vehicles in great shape.

Believe it or not, the fuels used in nitro trucks or cars as well as in radio-controlled cars contain lubricants. The lubricants in these cars actually serve to protect the engine. This is due to the fact that not all of it gets burned when the engine runs. This therefore results in a chassis that is coated with a lot of oil which made its exit from the car’s pipe.

The way to remove this as easily as possible is by using a cleaner: one example is Simple Green. However, it is best to first remove all and any radio equipment before cleaning; after which, plug the inlets onto the engine. Another option is by removing the engine itself.

The chassis should then be sprayed down lightly. Use a brush that has a firm bristle to knock away any grime. Once the chassis has been cleaned, use a towel to dry it. Then, re-install the removed components.

The majority of radio-controlled cars have an electric starter. The bearings in this starter should always be oiled and cleaned at least every week or two.

The starter should then be removed as carefully as possible. The use of a screwdriver is an effective way to keep the pressure on the mechanism as the starter is pulled off the plate’s back.

Spray the bearing with engine spray in order to clean it. Oil the bearing in order to keep it running smoothly. You will discover that once the engine and starter is reassembled, it will work almost as good as new.

Fuel should be stored in a place that is dry and – as much as possible – away from pets, children, or anyone else who could mistake the fuel as washer for the windshield.

All in all, when fuel is stored, it could absorb water vapor over a significant amount of time, especially if the container is not sealed perfectly. It is best to store bottles on a cardboard and not on the carpet directly or on cement.

Radio controlled models appeal to the kid in all of us, though serious hobbyists will make a distinction between hobby quality models and the toys of their youth. If you live near a lake or river, then radio controlled boats provide a fun way to hit the water. You can race them competitively or just sail them for recreation. Be careful to avoid bodies of water that have weeds in them, as these can get stuck in your rudder or propeller and slow down your radio-controlled boat.

RC boats are a best-selling branch of the RC toy development. They are produced in a wide variety of shapes varying from small and steady cruisers to lightning fact racers and their popularity goes along to soar up. The conception of a toy boat is not precisely new. After all, toy boats have been around as long as teddy bears

The captivation with RC boats is not only their lightness on the water, but also their complex gathering process. Sure, people take plume in the trophies and ribbons gained in water races and tournaments, but most of the RC boat operators are equally proud of the workmanship of their marine admirations.

It is this sense of pride that has assisted pushes the toy market into making a large number of RC boat model kits that come across the skill sets of different groups of people. Generally, RC boats come in three varying models: builder’s kits, ARR boat kits, and RTR boat kits.

Gas, Electric or Nitro?

Broadly speaking, radio controlled boats fall into three types. Electric boats are the cheapest, but also the slowest, and get slower as the battery power depletes. Gas powered boats run on regular auto gas, and can reach speeds of up to 45 mph. They are the most expensive type of remote controlled boat, but can run for up to 45 minutes on a single tank of gas. Somewhere in between are nitro boats, which run on a blend of alcohol and oil especially designed for sport vehicles. The boats themselves are usually cheaper than gas boats, but the fuel is more expensive, so they could prove to be a false economy. Another disadvantage is that they are very noisy, and banned in some areas for that reason. However, they have the advantage of being easy to operate and running on full power throughout the lifetime of a tank of fuel.

What Do I Need To Run a Remote Controlled Boat?

Most remote controlled boats come as a complete kit, with batteries, fuel and a battery charger, though batteries and fuel will need to be purchased separately once the initial supply runs out. Some nitro boats also require a starter kit. This is usually supplied with the boat, but not always. If you are buying your first radio controlled boat you are better off looking for one that comes ready to run straight out of the box

RC cars are becoming famous day by day as one of the most coveted sources for recreational activities. These radio controlled cars offer enhanced level of excitement and enthusiasm to the players. For those who hold their interest it car racing field, RC cars are best options for them to gain pleasure in the activity. You may not only come across radio controlled cars but also a wide gamut of RC toys including RC boats, radio controlled hovercrafts, RC submarines, RC tanks, RC airplanes, RC monster trucks, radio controlled mini buggies, fighter jets, radio controlled drifting cars, RC helicopters and ,many more.

There are different types of radio controlled cars which can work on varied technology. To make these RC cars function one need to power them through electric batteries, nitro fuels, gas or strangely wind in case it is a sailing boat. It is believed that nitro fuel RC cars are the advanced version of RC cars in the line of radio controlled cars. However, most people enjoy RC games using electronic radio controlled cars. These cars are not as expensive as nitro fuel radio controlled cars and require slightly lower level of maintenance. With nitro fuel powered RC cars you need to pay proper attention towards the maintenance and run-in of the car. Also to your information nitro fuels for radio control cars is not easy to be obtained from general stores. You may have to visit a specialized store or search through internet.

If you are planning to buy a RC car, you need to be confirmed about certain factors. The first thing that you would generally consider can be your budget based on which you will be able to select a radio controlled car. You also need to decide the model that you desire to buy and the technology used for its functioning. If you are a novice then it is recommended to go for electric radio controlled cars and through the course of your experience you gain skills and become advance in the field for running nitro fuel RC cars. Another important factor that you may want to consider is the kit that you buy. You need to see whether the kit includes a model that needs to be assembled or can be used directly.
While buying an expensive RC car you may also want to consider the age of the person going to use enjoy the toy. It is believed that expensive radio controlled cars are ideal for people above the age of 14. If you are planning to purchase RC car for a child under the age of 14 then it is suggested to look for other options such wired remote control cars or battery cars.

One of the most exciting hobbies that is inexpensive and very exciting is radio controlled airplanes. The interest and feelings involved of becoming proficient at controlling your own airplane exceeds most pilot’s expectations. Many enthusiasts become dedicated to enhancing their skills and are more than willing to help novice fliers get started on their own. Radio controlled airplanes are helping people get outside, meet new people and giving them an avenue to pursue self-awareness. Talk to any radio controlled airplane club member and you will soon discover the passion that they have for this hobby.

The best way to get started is to get a trainer airplane. The ultimate way to start is to get the radio controlled airplane along with a simulator program for your computer. By using the controller (the box with “sticks” that manipulate all of the functions of the airplane via radio signal) in conjunction with your computer, you can “fly” your aircraft without the fear of crashing it several times before you master the skills necessary for proficient flight. This will save you a lot of money on your first purchase.

The next thing you need to decide is with which type of radio controlled airplane you want to start off. The best option is the brushless trainer aircraft. These are well constructed and have the advantage of minimum set-up but provide considerable power with use of the NiCD battery. This is a new age battery that delivers a lot of power that does not diminish as it discharges. Along with the plastic and foam construction, they give the added benefit of being more forgiving when coming abruptly to a stop on the ground.

Next you need to decide the type of aircraft; high wing or high lift. Both of these are suitable to the novice pilot. The high wing configuration of a radio controlled airplane is considered the standard for beginners. With the wings on the top of the fuselage (the larges contributor to weight) causes this weight to hang under the wing. This maintains stability throughout flight as it is centered and balanced on the underside of the wing.

The high lift wing is also an excellent choice for novice pilots. The high lift wing is designed for maximum lift which results in extended glide time and slower possible speeds. On a flat-bottomed wing (high lift), the air going over the wing must travel farther than the air going under the wing. This produces much more lift than a proportioned (symmetrical) wing. More lift allows the airplane to fly much more slowly giving the beginner more time to make adjustments.

By definition, radio controlled (RC) cars are powered model cars driven from a distance via a radio control system. The introduction of ready-to-run (RTR) radio controlled cars has expanded the marketing demographic. This allows men and women of all ages to buy and drive their RC cars without complicated assembly.

The first RC cars were released in the mid 1960’s by Elettronica Giocattoli. The first model available for commercial sale was a Ferrari 250LM. Since then, engineers from all around the world have contributed to what we now know as the RC car. There are two basic types of hobby-grade radio controlled vehicles, nitro-powered and gas-powered.

Nitro-powered RC cars run more similarly to full-size vehicles than their electric counterparts. The throaty sound of the engine is one of the biggest selling points for nitro-powered RC cars. They are also able to run for much greater lengths of time than electric RC cars, which are considered to be toys. They are made with more durable parts and have considerable power.

RC Cars that run on gasoline (“fuelies” or “gassers“) run on a pre-mixed combination of oil and gasoline, similar to lawnmowers and other small engines. Gassers have an extremely long lifespan and rarely need tuning or repair. They aren’t able to reach some of the speeds that the nitro vehicles can, but they have more power and are bigger. They downside of these gassers is their price, which can be as high as $3,000, more than both electric and nitro RC cars.

Electric cars are considered by enthusiasts to be toy models. This misconception stems from the fact that most children’s RC cars are electrically powered. There are many RTR and assembly kit RC vehicles that are electrically powered. They have decent power and speeds. These cars are more geared for beginner and less dedicated RC car fans. Price is the biggest factor involved in buying electric RC cars. Their price range varies around $50 to $100 dollars. Battery packs and chargers are usually required purchases to run an electric powered RC car.

With the wide selection and varying grades of RC cars, including RTR models, it is easy for anyone to get started. Many websites offer cheaper prices and a wider variety than retail stores. There are also used accessories and vehicles that can be purchased for a hobbyist on a budget. Lots of information is also available to help you purchase your first or most recent RC vehicle.

Radio controlled boats are a fun and rewarding hobby, that could be ether relaxing or exhilarating depending on your needs. Best of all it doesn’t have to be very expensive. RC boats come in a wide variety of forms and types ranging from small and steady cruisers to lightning fact racers. You can either buy one already built or you can buy it in the kit form and assemble it yourself.

Buying a ready build radio controlled boat is by far the easiest option. But building your own boat can be much more satisfying. This decision is dependant on your reasons for taking up radio controlled boats as a hobby in the first place. It is easy to find all of your RC boat parts either on the internet or at your local RC hobby store. You may be worried about the amount of work involved or think that it will be to hard to get a good result, but in the end you will be glad that you put in the effort, after all this is a hobby and what’s the point in finishing it in 5 minutes? Anyway these RC boats come pretty comprehensive instructions that make it real simple to achieve a great result in next to no time.

The next decision you need to make is what type or radio controlled boat would you like.

Radio controlled boats are built in electric, nitro, and gas variants. Electric RC boats, Nitro RC boats and GasÂ

Electric are more popular because they are cheep and easier to run strait out of the box. Electric radio controlled boats come in a number of sizes, from the very small and slow pool toy RC boats to the very fast medium sized RC boat. The main problem with the electric boats is that as the batteries loose power the boat become slower. Â

Nitro boats utilize Nitro-Methane fuel which is very powerful and makes for a fast boat, but the main problems with Nitro powered radio controlled boats are that the are a little more complicated to run as you will need to use a special starter kit to get them going and the fuel is about 4 times the price of a gas boat.

Gas radio controlled boats run on regular car gas with oil combined in the fuel. Also known as 2 stoke fuel. These engines are larger than the other types and therefore need a larger hulled boat to accommodate the engine. With the larger hull comes some advantages such as a more stable and easier to handle craft and mixed with the cheaper fuel, makes the gas RC boat (in my opinion) the best of the three types of radio controlled boat.

Then there is the radio controlled sail boat.

The radio controlled sail boat is the ultimate RC boat if you are looking for relaxation or stress relief. The radio control is there to control the sails and the rudder and naturally the wind acts as the engine.

When children hear the word “monster”, what they imagine is an enormous, mystic and unsightly living thing that has fangs and horns and enormous claws, which is out to devour. And adults think about them as an evil that is out to harm and hurt the weak. Ok, but not this monster, yes, it is big and a little ugly, but is also packed with fun and enjoyment. This is known as radio controlled monster truck. This vehicle in a way denotes splendor and superiority, in a modern way.

Radio controlled monster trucks are a very hot item nowadays. And everybody knows the reason of their popularity. Adults and children both desire the feel of power and complete control, even when they are playing, or doing any other activity or just displaying the features and design of their really own exceptional radio controlled monster truck.

The growing fame of this radio controlled vehicle not just as toys for playing but as an obsessive hobby provoked the steady development of the obtainable models. If you are looking to own the hugest and nastiest looking radio controlled truck then there are a lot of products out there in the market.

Now after having bought the radio controlled monster truck, if you want to give your children a real fun time, playing? Then create an obstacle course track in your house, in the yard. You can copy the model track of various real monster truck rallies.

Take into the view of the functioning capabilities and environmental needs of your particular model of monster truck, and design a monster track that becomes the top topic of discussion in the entire neighborhood.

All the children will perch up around the fence to witness your mini rally.

Take a look at your truck; does it come preserved against dust and moisture? If so, ensure that you add a mud hole or pit to add to the excitement of your rally or race.

Consider the closeness of the mud hole to the end of the hill. Imagine the truck coming down the hill, taking the ground on the dry track, and then taking the speed towards the muddy track, splashing it to every sides, or tumbling down in the pit, and splattering the mud and water upward and out in all directions. Think about the most stunning course. You can also let your monster truck jump from one hill to the other and see if your monster truck survives a good jump. You can do this easily by measuring the distance between both the hills. The steep incline is also a great spectacle for children. You can lay an oval track of mud and see the joy in your childrens’ eyes.

Your children and kids in the neighborhood will thank you for giving them hours of unlimited and unrestricted fun with the monster track. This way you can also develop a hobby in your children and help them nurture it.

If you have children and you like the idea of endless, messy play with a monster truck, head on over to Remote Control Truck and Remote Control Monster Truck for some inspiration.
