A bittersweet photo review of 2 Tamiya Battle Unit Radio Control Allied Tank Models plus a few figures. These WWII US Army tanks are built for tank to tank infrared backyard battle games against their natural enemy. They start out as 1/16 scale kits that require embling and painting.

RC Tank Duel

Demonstration of tank combat using the ‘laser tag’ system of the Tamiya Battle Unit (TBU). The clip shows two methods I’ve used to hide the rather ugly mushroom shaped TBU. The Panther has extra IR receivers positioned inside the commander’s cupola, together with the hit indicator lights. The Sherman has the IR receiver sensors fitted inside the actual commander figure.
